1.Ethno-cultural complex "Sediment-Housewarming".
With the approach of warm days, many will want to go to the water. If you are ready to consider options beyond the Minsk sea, we advise you to go to Naroch – the largest lake in Belarus.
It makes sense to combine a walk along the coast with a visit to the Sediments. This is a complex of guest houses, which recreated the atmosphere of the 19th century. If you stay here overnight, you can melt the stove and milk the cow, and show the children where the eggs come from (guests are invited to a real chicken coop). The houses have separate children's rooms with a bed and a cot.
Personal experience. Asya Poplavskaya, travel blogger:
This is one of my favorite vacation spots in Belarus. I was there 9 times and every time I found something new and interesting.
I especially like the horse show, which for three years has turned into a rich performance with rare breeds of horses (for example, the Friesian breed — one of the most beautiful in the world!), donkey, mini pony, goat and dogs. This almost two-hour show will not leave indifferent neither children nor adults. After the performance, you can talk to all the artists, take pictures on horseback and ride it.
Children, I think, will be interested in a tour of the complex, which has a Museum of life and bread, samovar Museum (the largest in the CIS), the Museum of retro cars and numismatics. In the Museum of bread, located in a working water mill, you can participate in a master class on baking bread. Also kids can communicate with rabbits, Guinea fowls, geese, which are in the mini-farms near the houses of the complex.
On holidays here usually make interesting programs with tasting tea, pancakes, delicious homemade lunch, a sightseeing tour of the complex and horse shows. It is also available as part of a tour one day.
2.Excursion to places of military glory on the Eve of the victory.
Day will be great to transfer history lessons for children to fresh air and take a ride to places of military glory in Belarus. It is unlikely that there is at least one boy who refuses to look into the dugout, climb the tanks and take pictures against the background of a military aircraft.
Mound of Glory, for sure, passed many experienced travelers on the way to the airport. Did you go upstairs? They say that climbing two concrete stairs, each of which includes 241 steps, you will be able to honor the feat of the Soviet people. And at the same time to repeat with children the account.
Any schoolboy probably knows about the tragedy of the Belarusian village of Khatyn. During the war, 149 people burned alive here, 70 of them children. Only one adult Joseph Kaminsky survived. Waking up, he found among the burned bodies of his little son. 6-meter sculpture, which was built in Khatyn, symbolizes the Kaminsky, and the General tragedy of the Soviet people who lost their sons and daughters.
It will be interesting to go with the children to the Stalin Line, which is an open-air Museum (all the exhibits are original, you can touch them with your hands). The complex is located next to a small lake where you can go boating and catamarans, shoot with children in a shooting range or try out weapons of the war.
The tour ends with a visit to the newly built Museum of the great Patriotic war in Minsk. Large-scale installations and live expositions will delight children!
Personal experience. Katya Grintsevich, mother of three children:
Our family believes that it is better to study the history of Belarus not by dry textbooks, but during family trips and excursions. Usually we plan the weekend in advance, carefully consider the route, collect information about the places where we are going.
A separate topic of trips is the Great Patriotic war. We were in the Brest Fortress, the Museum of the second world war, considered the steps of the Mound of Glory, climbed all the permitted equipment on the Stalin Line. But Khatyn became a special place for our family. The village is a Ghost, piercing silence, every 30 seconds torn by the crying of bells. My heart bleeds when I read the plaques with the names and age of kids on the remains of the houses. Values themselves are placed in their places.
We came to Khatyn closer to closing, when there is no influx of people. Then there is an unreal atmosphere. This is not a soulless technique that children often perceive as a game. This is not an entertaining place, there are no playgrounds or fast food. But this is a place where, in my opinion, it is necessary to take children to better appreciate the world, home, mom and dad, and their lives.
3.Sula history Park
Sula Park-Museum is located not far from Minsk – 50 kilometers away, on the shore of the lake. Once the Lensky family lived here – in a large private estate, with a mill, a greenhouse and a landscape Park. Much was destroyed during the war, but 5 years ago the complex was restored.
Now this place is recommended by many for family holidays, and all thanks to the activities that are offered to guests. Here you can ride horses, which are kept in the local stable, go fishing, ride a drakar – a ship of brave Vikings - and even fly by helicopter.
Personal experience. Elena Berezkina, mother of two children:
The first thing I want to note is the goodwill and courtesy of each employee. Children immediately began to admire the beauty of the area - the river, bridge, ancient buildings, ancient trees. Although it was only the beginning of April, but the weather pleased us.
In the smithy was a blacksmith, told how to work with steel, showed his creations. In the almost restored castle, everyone was given a chance to try to mark spears, knives, archery.
Adults and children rode the cart, children rode the horse. By the way, all this is included in the price of the entrance ticket. As a treat at the distillery-the distillery of local infusion of 18 herbs. The Park has a children's Playground with swings, sandpit and slides.
In the hall-the Museum of the gentry of glory we searched the pictures and the local way of life. And how long we were there, as a musician we have played. It was incredible!
Unfortunately, drakar (a large Viking boat) was under repair, but promised to launch it by the end of April. Riding it is also included in the ticket price. On the site of ancient beliefs, we went to a real hut on chicken legs. The girl in traditional clothes told about the beliefs of Belarusians, why the hut stands on legs and why these legs are called kurimi.
On site there is a cafe where you can eat and relax. But food is asked to book in advance - about half an hour. We had everything with us, so we didn't go to the cafe.
We also visited the old houses - the exposition block "Belarusian town" - in one of them we were told about weaving in Belarus, in the other - the Jewish house - told about the life of local Jews and famous Jews who came from Belarus. And all this is clearly and with examples.
A little further is the Palace of Lensky - the last owners of the estate. There is now a Museum. In may, a Festival of Medieval culture will be held in Sula. I think we should get there for sure!
Brest fortress and Brest
If you are ready to go on a trip with an overnight stay, it makes sense to consider a 2-day excursion to Brest.
The program can be very rich – with a visit to Belovezhskaya Pushcha, a visit to the Museum of nature and the estate of Santa Claus (Yes, you can visit him all year round). In Pushcha, it makes sense to rent bicycles – special routes have been developed for walks. In enclosures besides bison live lynx, wild boars, ostriches, deer, moose, wolves and other inhabitants of the forest.
In Brest, no tour is complete without a visit to the fortress, which was built in the middle of the 19th century! A famous fortress, thanks to its heroic defense in the early days of the war. In Brest all praise the pedestrian street on which in the evenings the lamplighter in the form of Peter's times lights retro lanterns.
Personal experience. Olga Davletbayeva, mother of 2 children:
The Brest fortress has impressed us with its magnificence: why are only the walls and a half-two-meter-thick, round arches. The inner territory is huge! We have not even mastered to work around it in two days. Children loved the technique in the open air, where you can not only touch military equipment, but also to climb the gun, for example. Facilities include a shooting gallery and a photo in uniform.
But it is very important to bring food, we had problems with it. At the weekend in a cafe near the wedding, so there was nowhere to eat. We also looked at the archaeological Museum "Berestye". Entrance is free for preschoolers. Here are exhibited archaeological finds that date back to the 11-14 centuries. At a depth of 4 meters there is a part of the old craft quarter: about 30 wooden residential and commercial buildings of the 13th century, two street bridges, a palisade, the remains of Adobe stoves. Then, at the request of his son, we went to the Museum of railway equipment, which is located directly across the road from the main entrance to the Brest fortress. Some trains were open: it was possible not only to sit on the driver's seat, but also to see the "internal organs" of the train control. Many of the exhibits are active and used in the filming of films.
We did not have time to walk around the city and along the pedestrian street. We left, but promised to return and necessarily watch, as have lit lights on this street.
Those who love churches, this weekend should go to the West of the country. For example, as part of the tour "Belarusian mosaic" tourists are offered to see three of the most important sights of Western Belarus: the Trinity Church in the village of Gervyaty, which is called "little Switzerland" and "Belarusian Notre Dame", the Church of our lady Ruzhantsova in Rakov, more than once destroyed and restored from scratch, the Church of St. Michael the Archangel.
The leader of the trio without a doubt can be called the Church of Gervyaty, which is located near the border with Lithuania. When a few years ago Belarusians only began to discover this attraction, many people nodded their heads in surprise: "Wow, this is what we have in Belarus? I don't!".
This is one of the highest churches in Belarus (about 61 meters high), it is made in the style of neo-Gothic, which is not typical for Belarus. Inside there is a working body, which is more than 100 years old, and it was created specifically for the Vultures.
Personal experience. Irina Pronko, mother:
The main impressions are the majestic beauty of the Church among the villages and the friendliness of the priest, who accepts everyone as a native. Quite a large area, I believe that the child will be where to run - a lot of flower beds, flower beds, paths. And tall, as if to the sky, a Gothic temple. It's really impressive!
I do not know how the priest participates in the tour if the group comes, but he shows and tells everything to the singles with great enthusiasm. My parents went there several times, too, were delighted.
The service is in three languages, as it is a border area with Lithuania. I myself am a Catholic, the children in the temple we sing and even dance sometimes, so we are very interesting.
