02.09.2019. Analysts of the travel service conducted a study to determine the priorities of Russians over 55 years old when choosing cities and countries, as well as the time of year for travel. Experts analyzed the tickets purchased during the year, starting in August 2018 and ending in August 2019. As a result, it turned out that vacationers who prefer "domestic tourism" are most often in Moscow – they accounted for a quarter of the purchased tickets. The second place was taken by Simferopol, the third is St. Petersburg. Analysts note that the second half of the rating are resorts-Sochi, Mineralnye Vody, Krasnodar and Anapa. The last places in the list are cities such as Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-don and Yekaterinburg.


As for going abroad, Russians aged 55+ prefer to travel to the near abroad: Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus and Azerbaijan. Among European countries, the Czech Republic is the favorite of the rating, and from foreign countries — Israel.

Traditionally, the most favorite time of year for travel is summer, the share of vacationers at this time is 31% of the elderly. 29% of tourists prefer autumn, 22% in spring and 18% in winter.
