405.5 thousand tourists visited Belarus in 2019

12.03.2020. The number of organized tourists and tourists who visited Belarus in 2019 was 405.5 thousand people. The number of organized Belarusians who went abroad amounted to 982.9 thousand people. 21.3% went to the CIS countries in an organized manner, 25.5% to the EU countries, and 53.2% to other countries of the world. In the past year, the most visited foreign countries were Egypt, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Spain, Greece, Poland, Tunisia, Lithuania, Montenegro and Georgia. These countries accounted for 85.5% of the total number of organized tourists and tourists who went abroad.


The number of organized tourists and tourists who visited Belarus in 2019 was 405.5 thousand people. The largest number of arrivals of organized tourists and tourists accounted for Russian citizens (53.7%).

Among other countries, the leaders in the number of visits to Belarus were Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, China, Germany, Ukraine, Estonia, the United Kingdom of great Britain and Northern Ireland, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.

The average length of stay of foreign tourists in Belarus in 2019 was 4 days.

Domestic tourism continues to develop. So, in 2019, the number of organized tourists in the country amounted to 72.4 thousand people, tourists-1034.5 thousand people.

In the Republic, 597 hotels and similar accommodation facilities provided services to hotels and similar accommodation facilities, including 385 hotels, hotels and tourist and hotel complexes.

In 2019, 2,081 thousand people lived in hotels and similar accommodation facilities. Of the residents, citizens of the Republic made up 46.4%, citizens from other States-53.6%, including from the CIS countries – 36.3%.
